  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
  2. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  3. Divide the dough into three portions: leave one plain and add red food coloring to one portion and blue to the other.
  4. Chill covered dough portions in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll small amounts of each colored dough together to form balls, then coat them in powdered sugar.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set. Cool before serving.
