Description

Apple Crumble Bars are a delightful twist on the classic dessert, combining the comforting flavors of apple crumble in a convenient bar form. Ingredients

  • 125g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 34 large Granny Smith apples (diced)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (for filling)
  • Spices: cinnamon, nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C (350F). Grease and line a 20cm square pan with baking parchment.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until smooth. Stir in the egg until fully incorporated.
  3. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan to form the base. Bake for 15 minutes until slightly golden.
  4. While the base cools, mix diced apples with additional flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl.
  5. Layer apple mixture over the baked base and crumble remaining mixture on top. Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
