  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 125 grams confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine wet ingredients: melted butter, brown sugar, buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each cavity of the doughnut pan halfway with batter and bake for 11 minutes.
  6. Let cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, mix confectioners' sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth; dip cooled doughnuts in the glaze.
