  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ lb. egg noodles (uncooked)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (can sub Worcestershire sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon EACH: garlic powder, mustard powder, dried thyme
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt/Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large measuring cup, combine beef broth, chicken bouillon cube, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, dried thyme, and heavy cream; set aside.
  2. Heat a deep skillet over medium-high heat and cook seasoned ground beef with diced onions until browned (7-10 minutes). Drain grease.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Stir in flour to create a roux.
  4. Gradually add the prepared sauce mixture while stirring until it boils; reduce heat to simmer and stir in the cream of mushroom soup for 10 minutes.
  5. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  6. Stir shredded cheese into the sauce until melted; add back the cooked beef.
  7. Mix in the drained noodles until well combined; serve hot.
