  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 12 dinner rolls
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. Sauté diced onions in olive oil until soft; add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Mix in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper; combine well.
  5. Slice dinner rolls in half and place bottom halves on the baking sheet.
  6. Layer with cheese, meat mixture, and remaining cheese slices.
  7. Top with buns; brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the burger sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  10. Serve warm with the sauce on the side.
