  • 24 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups unsalted butter
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 1/4 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Whisk milk, oil, vanilla extract, egg, and hot water in another bowl; mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes; cool completely.
  5. Beat cream cheese until smooth; mix in sugar and cocoa powder followed by sour cream, vanilla extract, melted chocolate chips, and eggs.
  6. Pour cheesecake mixture over cooled cake layers; bake at 325°F (163°C) for 50-60 minutes until set.
  7. Allow to cool in the oven before refrigerating overnight.
  8. Prepare buttercream by mixing softened butter with cocoa powder and powdered sugar; add cream until fluffy.
