Ingredients
- 1 pound turkey breast (sliced)
- 2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
- 8–10 slices cooked bacon (crumbled)
- King's Hawaiian Rolls (12-count package)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (245 g) whole milk (room temperature)
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ¼ cup (25 g) parmesan cheese (grated)
- ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter (melted)
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Prepare the cheese sauce by melting butter in a saucepan and whisking in flour to create a roux. Gradually add whole milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Stir in seasonings and cheeses until smooth.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer with turkey and tomato slices, pour half of the cheese sauce over them, and sprinkle crumbled bacon on top before adding the top halves of the rolls.
- Brush melted butter mixed with garlic salt over the tops of the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
