  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 large Vidalia onion (diced)
  • 4 ounces sliced white mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
  • 3 cups beef stock
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • kosher salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Chopped fresh parsley or chives

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, panko, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Form into four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent; add mushrooms and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in thyme, garlic powder, and flour; cook for about 1 minute before gradually adding beef stock while scraping the pan.
  5. Once thickened, return patties to the skillet and simmer for another 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
