Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bulk pork sausage until browned and crumbly (about 10 minutes). Drain excess grease and let cool.
  2. Lay out wax paper and spray lightly with cooking spray. Unroll one package of crescent rolls onto the paper and pinch perforations together to create a seamless sheet.
  3. Spread half of the softened cream cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cooked sausage and half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Using wax paper as assistance, roll the dough lengthwise into a tight log and wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 with the second package of crescent rolls.
  7. Chill both logs in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until firm.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unwrap logs and slice each into 1/2-inch-thick pinwheels.
  9. Arrange pinwheels on a baking sheet with space between each piece and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
